The Collège des Experts de l'Immatériel (CEI) is mandated by the Direction Générale des Entreprises(DGE - Ministry of Economy and Finance) and theObservatoire de l'immatériel (OI ) to evaluate Thesaurus-Football® as a tool for identifying, evaluating, valuing and managing intangible assets for soccer clubs. This document was submitted to the IO on October 25, 2017. Following the meetings of the Collège des Experts de l'Immatériel on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 and Monday, January 8, 2018, the following official and final opinion was issued.
All the members of the IRC would like to congratulate the promoters of this project for the thorough work done to evaluate the human capital of a soccer club.
The qualitative part is very interesting, and the analysis grid, particularly fine and relevant, instructive. In the quantitative section, the link between the club's economic model, its valuation and the evaluation of the "player's human capital" is clearly visible. Moreover, the document explains well what a financial valuation model of a club can be used for.
The Thesaurus-Football® standard document aims to be a world first in terms of evaluating and accounting for the Human-Player Capital of a soccer team; it is methodologically recognized, especially in its qualitative part.
Finally, the resulting valuation (financial value of the Human-Player Capital) can only be validated by an auditor, a financial analyst, or by the opinion of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
